Disney on Ice

Back in March, we had a girls night out at Disney on Ice with Heather, Ashley and Grandma Searle.  For weeks leading up to it, the girls kept asking who they would see and Abby was most excited about getting to see the Beast. So, throughout the whole show, she kept asking when the beast would come. When he finally did, she was so excited!  Chloe's favorite part was watching Aerial do her acrobats in the air.  I have to admit- it was pretty cool.  It was a really cute show and I think I had more fun watching the girls faces than actually watching the show!

Cross Eyed

For about a week, the girls thought it was hilarious to make themselves go cross eyed.  And because it was so funny, we had to get pictures right?

Cabellas

Chloe had Presidents day off, so instead of sitting around all day, we took a little trip to Cabellas.  The girls love seeing all the fish and checking out all the stuffed animals.  Plus it’s a great, free way to kill a few hours.

A day at the park

Ok, so I am totally going to be playing catch up and it is my goal to do at least one blog post a day until I catch up!

So way back in April, we went to spend the day with our friends. Chloe was on spring break so we got to spend the whole day instead of just the afternoon.  It was a beautiful day so after playing around at their house for a while, we packed up and headed to a local park.  It is so rare to find a park that actually has sand at it, and the kids were in heaven.  Then to top it off, the park had a huge zip line at it.  Chloe and Bentley loved going on it, but Abby was too scared to try. Her and Vienna stuck to the sand and the swings!

Happy St. Patty's Day!

Let's be honest, I don't do much for St. Patrick's day!  In the past I have made green eggs and green pancakes but this year I totally spaced it. I did however make a mint ice cream pie that was pretty yummy and green.  That being said, I always have to get a picture of the girls in their green!

Chloe's 6!

I can't believe that Chloe is already six!  It has been so much fun watching her and her personality grow.
Since her birthday was on a Thursday, I got to bring treats into her class. Chloe wanted mint Oreo's and she wanted everyone to be able to have two each.  As the class was eating their cookies, they took turns raising their hands and giving Chloe compliments.  It was so sweet to hear all her little friends tell her sweet things.  Abby even got up and sang Happy Birthday to Chloe in front of the whole class.  I wish I would have gotten my phone out and recorded it because it was the sweetest thing.

For her birthday this year, she got to have a friend party, so as soon as school was over, we grabbed all our stuff and headed over to the Nickel City for her party. Nickel city is a giant arcade building where all the games only cost a nickle! After all was said and done, we ended up with 12 of Chloe's friends attending her party. I gave them all a bag of nickels and they went to town.  I was able to have the party on Chloe's actual birthday and we went early enough that we practically had the place to ourselves. All the kids got tons of tickets that they were able to turn in for prizes at the end of the party. It was so fun watching Chloe play with all her friends and I think everyone had a great time.

 The Party Animals

After the party, Bentley and Vienna came over to play for awhile and it made for a great afternoon. Then before we knew it, it was time for dinner. Chloe got to choose wherever she wanted to go for her birthday dinner, and where did she choose? Chick-fil-A!  We invited the Cummings to come with us and after we came back for presents and cinnamon rolls. Why cinnamon rolls? Because, I had already made one cake that day and I wasn't about to make another!   It was a busy, fun filled day and Chloe got tons of presents!  She was one happy girl!

Annual Check-ups

I took the girls in for their annual check-up last week and here is what we found

Chloe
Height: 42.25 in.  6th percentile
Weight: 34 lbs  1st percentile
BMI: 13.46   5th percentile

Chloe has only gained a total of 3 pounds from last year and grew 3 inches.  She is small, but like I always say "it's better to be small and a girl, than small and a boy."  At age 6, Chloe loves all things art.  Give her anything relating to office supplies- crayons, notepads, markers, paint, stickers, etc- she is in heaven.  Chloe is doing excellent in school and she has tons of friends that she has made.  I love going to pick her up from school hand having all her friends tell her bye and see you tomorrow.  It is just too cute.  Chloe is also a great big sister. Abby and her play so good together and they are just the best of friends (well, most of the time).

Abby
Height:v 37.9in  67th percentile
Weight: 28.8 lbs   27th percentile
BMI:  14.13   6th percentile

Abby is our crazy child.  She loves to run around and has yet to master her inside voice.  Abby also loves to sing and dance.  However, in order to dance, she must be in her dress-up clothes. A princess only dances in dresses- not jeans and a t-shirt.  She has some good moves on her as well!  Sometimes, Abby and I will have our conversations in song because singing is much more fun than just talking =).  Abby also has lots of friends and loves to play with everyone.  It doesn't matter how young or old the child is- she will play great with them.

Happy Valentines Day

Happy Valentines day!  The girls got totally spoiled this year with tons of candy from school, grandparents, and of course us. By the end of the day, each girls had a gallon size ziplock filled with candy.  You would think they were loved or something =).
It was a fun filled day with Chloe's class party, Grandpa Ron stopping by, dinner, and then a ward dance party that evening.  With everything going on, I didn't get may pictures, but I did take this one of the girls the day before! Lots of love to all our family!

Jesus wants me for a Sunbeam!

Since Abby's birthday is at the end of the year, she just barely made the age requirement for Sunbeams.  She was so excited to get to go to the 'Big Nursery" with Chloe.  It took her a few weeks to learn that we call it Primary, but it was pretty cute while it lasted.  On her first day of Sunbeams, she got her own scriptures and scripture bag and she couldn't be happier.  Here's a picture of her that Sunday all ready to go.

Rice Crispy Treat Houses

We got together with my mom to create our second annual rice crispy treat houses.  We tried it for the first time last year, and found out that we made the treats too soft and having them hollow inside made it hard for it too keep shape. So this year, we learned from our mistakes and made solid bases and we made sure the rice crispy treats were harder.
As usual, Chloe showed us all up with her creative house. She made the whole thing by herself and it looked awesome.  Abby had fun putting the candy on wherever she wanted and she was proud of her work too! Tawna and I worked on one together while Mom and Dad created one together too.

Concentrating hard on making her house.

Happy New Year 2014

We spent this New Year's Eve with the Cummings and had a nice, low key evening.  We met up for dinner, saw Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2, and then came back to our house to ring in the new year with cider and sparklers.  Heather got a cotton candy machine for Christmas, so she brought that over and we tried it out as well. You can tell how much Chloe liked it because her teeth are blue in all the pictures from the cotton candy! Abby fell asleep during the movie and went straight to bed when we got home so she isn't in any of our pictures.

Here's to a great 2014, cause lets be honest, it cant get much worse than 2013 was!

Abby's Three!

I can't believe that Abby is already three!  It seem's like yesterday that we were bringing her home, and now she is a big girl!
We knew that we were going to be having her family birthday party the next day but we still wanted to make her birthday day special.  So, that night we went out for pizza (one of Abby's favorite food) and watched Disney's new movie  'Frozen'.  Abby and Chloe loved it  and so did we!

Abby kept asking me if she could go to a park for her birthday, and so we did.  Since we were going to be getting all bundled up anyways, we decided to go sledding as well while we were there. We met up with my dad and some other family members and had a great time sledding.

On Saturday, we invited our families to join us at 'Jump on It' which is a huge trampoline park.  Abby had been asking to go there forever and so we thought it would be a perfect place to have her party. Abby loved it and it was so fun to have family there to celebrate with us.
We had originally planned on going back to my mom's house for cake and ice cream but so many people had been sick that we canceled it. We ended up having our own mini party at home.

Abby is finally old enough to start doing the annual birthday questionnaire.  Enjoy!
