Free Photo Shoot

The other day, we were stopped at the mall by this girl trying to give us a flyer. Usually, I hate getting stopped but today I listened to what she was saying and boy was I glad. There was a new photo place opening up and the photographers needed practice with children. So, I was able to get a free photo shoot of Chloe and these are some of my favorites. Too bad she wasn't in a cuter outfit, but she is still pretty dang cute.

The photographers were going crazy over her because one, she was so cute and two, she would just pose however they wanted. They kept saying "You never get two-year-old's to do this" and "Can we keep her all day?"

4th of July Weekend: Part 3

To round off the weekend, we went to a parade in Provo and then headed off to my mom's house for swimming. Usually the parade is on the same day that we do all the celebrating so it is a way to kick off the fourth, but with it being on Monday this year it was a good way to end it. However, we stayed up way too late the night before and it was really hard to wake up that morning to go. We were glad we did and Chloe had a good time. She got the most excited about the huge blow-up monkey and the guy who looked funny (he was a band leader with one of those big hats with feathers on it). Usually the whole family goes, but this year only about half of us went.

After the parade, we all went out to lunch and then went swimming. Thanks mom for letting us bombard your house! Chloe just loves to swim and we all had a great time.

4th of July Weekend: Part 2

The theme this year for the fourth was "An All American Fourth". We ate a traditional American meal (fried chicken and potato salad), played some old fashioned games, and best of all enjoyed being with family.

Aaron's favorite game this year was human battle ship where we all layed down on the grass and then tossed water balloons over the net and tried to hit a battleship. Why does it not surprise me that Aaron was the one to get me out?

Here are some pictures of the pie eating contest. Doesn't it look yummy! They did an adult one and then a child one. Chloe decided to just dip her sucker in instead of getting all messy.

The water balloon toss.

They also made a huge flag using all the children's hand prints for the stars and stripes. It turned out super cute.

We ended the evening with fireworks and sparklers.

4th of July Weekend: Part 1

Every fourth of July, Aaron's family comes into town from all over the west coast. It is a ton of fun and jam packed with activities. One tradition is to go up Provo Canyon to a park called South Fork for a picnic. The parents love it because we can just sit back and chat in a shady park. The kids love it because there is a creek that runs trough the park and for some reason, they enjoy freezing their bums off playing in it. Chloe loved playing in the water and thought it was hilarious when she would sit down in the water. This year, Heather brought boats for all the kids to float down the river. It was a big hit!

After the park, we headed off to Provo to watch the fireworks. It was a great way to end the evening. However, by the time the fireworks actually started Chloe was basically asleep and we had to wake her up to see them. I forgot how fun it was to watch a big fireworks show with kids. Every time one would go off, they would get so excited and have to point it out to their parents.

30 Seconds is All it Takes

I was getting ready yesterday when the phone rang. Chloe likes to sit on the bathroom counter with me and put on chap stick and lotion. She's big enough that I felt I could step away for a second to grab the phone, leaving her sitting on the counter. Well, I learned my lesson. When I came back literally 30 seconds later, Chloe had gotten into my mascara and this was the result. At least she knows it goes on your eyes and not anywhere else.

When I came back in she asked, "Is this funny, mommy?" That's her new favorite question to ask whenever she does something.
