Fowler Family Portraits

For Fathers Day this year, I thought it would be nice to arrange a photo shoot with my dad and sisters for my dad's gift. We haven't taken family pictures since we were like ten so I figured it was about time. Here are some of my favorites.

The Fam

Daddy and his girls

My sisters

Our little family

Isn't she just too dang cute for words?

I Thought I Loved You Then

Today is our 5th anniversary and thinking back to the day that we got married brings a smile to my face. That was one of the happiest days of my life (the other being when Chloe was born). I feel so blessed to have such a wonderful husband who loves me and our daughter so much and to know that we will be together for eternity is even a better blessing.

Thinking back to how I felt that day reminds me of a Brad Paisley song titled "I thought I loved you then". The lyrics don't exactly match up with our life story (especially since he is singing to a girl and I am talking about a boy) but you get the picture.

I remember trying not to stare the night that I first met you

You had me mesmerized

And 3 weeks later in the front porch light taking 45 min to kiss goodnight

I hadn’t told you yet but I thought I loved you then

Chorus

Now you’re my whole life now you’re my whole world

I just can’t believe the way I feel about you girl

Like a river meets the sea

Stronger than it’s ever been

We’ve come so far since that day

And I thought I loved you then.

I remember taking you back to right where I first met you

You were so surprised

There were people around

But I didn’t care I got down on one knee right there

And once again I thought I loved you then

Chorus

Now you’re my whole life now you’re my whole world

I just can’t believe the way I feel about you girl

Like a river meets the sea

Stronger than it’s ever been

We’ve come so far since that day

And I thought I loved you then.

I can just see you with a baby on the way

I can just see you when your hair is turning gray

What I can’t see is how I’m ever gonna love you more

But I’ve said that before.

Now you’re my whole life now you’re my whole world

I just can’t believe the way I feel about you girl

Well look back some day at this moment that we’re in

And I'll look at you and say and I thought I loved you then

And I thought I loved you then...
Aaron- I loved you so much when we got married and I love you even more now! Happy Anniversary!

A Trip to the Zoo

This past Saturday we took Chloe to the zoo for the very first time. She loves animals, so we figured she would like the zoo and we were right. At first she got scared every time an animal would move or jump towards us, but she got used to it and had a great time! We were lucky enough to have my mom, dad and grandma join us.

Shoes, Shoes, Shoes

Well, if you couldn't already tell, Chloe is going to be a girly-girl. She loves shoes and purses and every time she walks into our room she heads straight for the closet and starts to play with our shoes. She has recently been trying to put them on and walk around in them. It only took her a few tries before she got it-- and that was in my heals!

Besides just loving to play with the shoes, she also knows which shoes belong to who. The other day we were outside talking to our neighbors and Chloe comes out of the garage with a pair of my shoes and said, "Mama." Then she went back into the garage and came back out with another pair of shoes that belonged to Aaron and said, "Dada." It kills us how smart she is.

On top of just loving shoes she also loves purses. She has a few of her own that she likes to sling over her arm and she also tries to make anything else that has a handle into a purse (i.e. camera bags and grocery bags). She also has found out that I have a stash of purses in our closet and is constantly wanting me to get them out for her.

School's Out For Summer!

Today is the first day of my summer break and I am loving it! I am totally looking forward to staying home with Chloe and playing with her all day long. At first, I thought we didn't have much planned for the summer, but as I am looking at the weekends, they are quickly filling up.

What I am not looking forward to is the end of summer because once again, I will be moving schools and this time, I am changing a lot more than just classrooms. For the past 5 years (this last year, part time) I have been teaching students with Autism in grades first through sixth. It has been a challenge, but I wouldn't trade the experience for anything. I loved teaching those students and I have learned so much from them.

However, in order to stay home with Chloe as much as possible, I only want to continue teaching part time. So, in order to accommodate my request, next year my district is moving me to a small group special education unit p.m. Kindergarten at Lindon Elementary. This means that I will not only have students with Autism, but any number of challenges. It will be an adventure and right now I am pretty much freaked out because I have no idea what exactly I will be doing, but I guess I have all summer and next year, which will hopefully be my last year working, to figure it out. Wish me luck!
